Carson Sparks is an associate at Keller Preece. His practice focuses on domestic and international patent prosecution, with an emphasis on software and technology innovations. He combines this technical and professional background with his legal training to help clients protect and strengthen their intellectual property portfolios.
Before entering the legal profession, Carson graduated with a degree in Biological Engineering and a minor in Chemistry from Utah State University. As part of his studies, Carson worked on a capstone design project to design and microfabricate a battery that could be implanted inside a person and be powered by blood glucose. In addition, Carson worked as an engineer and certified project management professional for six years in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, where he managed large-scale projects and design initiatives across international teams and facilities.
Carson graduated Cum Laude from the James E. Rogers College of Law at The University of Arizona, where he was a TechLaw Fellow, an Arizona Law Ambassador, a Writing Fellow, a member of Arizona Law Review, served as a Supreme Court Justice for the student government (ASUA), and represented veterans in the Veterans’ Advocacy Law Clinic. He wrote his Note on the history of mental health in the legal profession and how to improve mental health in the legal profession.
Outside of legal practice, Carson enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and dog. Carson enjoys reading, camping with his family, and wordplay.
